Pink!

Wow... I haven't blogged in ages...well at least a month :-) I figured I would get back into the swing of things with a RAW(e) post. This weeks theme is Pink! LOVE it! The object of the link-up is to post a photo according to the theme that is completly untouched and unedited.

This weekend I did a photoshoot that was so much fun! We went down to a park nearby with lots of good photo taking spots. The photo below is not one of my favorites but it definatly fits the "Pink" theme for RAW(e)... I will post more pics later, but for now here is my completely unedited and untouched RAW(e) pink photo.

2(6)

This weeks Raw(e) theme was 2(6) on the 26th day of the month... the rules were to go into your photos on your computer and choose the  2nd folder and the 6th photo in that folder and post it... not matter how bad or embarassing. This photo is was taken at my grandmas house in Oklahoma last Christmas. It was the first time I can EVER remember having a white christmas. Around here we usually luck out and have a heat wave and its in the 70's on Christmas :-)

Anyways, I digress... here is my entry into this weeks RAW(e) contest...

Bluebonnets!

Well, its that time of the week again. Raw(e) time. This week's theme is flowers and we know here in Texas that there is no better flower than a Texas Bluebonnet. Around April and May they bloom up everywhere! They can't mow the sides of the highways because of them and the drive to and from school is AMAZING! My brother and I went out this year and took some pics for mothers day and gave my mom a framed picture of us in the bluebonnets. She loved it! Anyways, below is my entry for Raw(e)... a completely unedited photo...

Dog days of summer RAW(e)

The picture below is one I am submitting for RAW(e) photo contest that they are doing over here at the Sailor & Company blog. It is a once a week photo contest where your pictures have to be completely raw (no editing allowed).
I took this photo a couple of weeks ago. It has already been a hot summer here in Texas and it is only just beginning. When it's hot out my dog LOVES to lay and take naps on the shaded concrete outside or the cold tile inside at this time of year. I wish I could have lighted it up a little so you could see her face through all that dark hair, but then... it wouldn't be RAW(e) now would it?

*F*R*I*E*N*D*S*

After a day of fun in the Sun WIND, I got some awesome pics of my two best friends! We had loads of fun between my school campus and surrounding area and The Harbor. I got some great pics for my friends and in turn got to try out some fun stuff with my camera. I posted one of the pics on this post last week for wordless wednesday.

Here are a few more of my favorites: (it was so hard to narrow down to these from almost 500!)

Hope You Enjoyed!

RAW(e)- Red

The theme for RAW(e) this week is RED. The task, is simple. Sam over at Sailor and Company has asked us to submit a photo completely raw, unedited, with the theme of "Red"

The following picture is one I took this last fall at my parents house. (This still sounds so weird to me "my parents house") At the time I took it I was still living there. In Texas, we don't usually get a drastic change in foliage. It usually goes from green, to brown, to dead leaves on the ground in the matter of a week or two. But for some reason the trees this year actually changed colors! It was AMAZINGLY RED!!!

I captured this picture with a technique I learned from a friend and it has become one of my favorites. This a completely amateur way of expressing it but here it goes. I was told to:

"put your camera (I have a Nikon) on 'A' setting and move the little twisty knob thingy completely to the left (which causes the 'f' to go down,"
This allowed the picture to focus heavily on the foreground of the picture and un-focus on the background creating a unique effect that I LOVE.

I have an edited picture that really brought out the red, but then that would be defeating the purpose of "RAW(e)." I hope you enjoyed!

AND P.S.-I think I fixed the problems I was having with the comments. Thanks Sam for letting me know!
